Motherhood is hard, but it doesn't have to be lonely. Looking for a village? We've got you covered! Here at MOPS (a.k.a. Mothers of Preschoolers) we gather with one goal in mind - to support each other. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together.
We offer coffee, community, conversation, activities, crafts, speakers, playdates, mom's night out, and more! We can't wait to meet you!
MOPS meets the first and third Thursdays of the month in Kids Zone from 9am-11am. Childcare is available for children ages 0-5.
Scholarships are available to cover all fees. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to apply for a scholarship.
We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. Our acronym stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers” because we began in 1973 when a group of moms with young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys.
MOPS meetings may include guest speakers, demonstrations, and videos to help you navigate this journey of motherhood. There will also be other moms who are on the same journey as you and understand the joys (and frustrations!) that it brings. These moms will be there to support you and help guide you. We also have DIY crafts, fun activities, and celebrations planned throughout the year.
No matter how many kids you have, if you work, stay-at-home, are married or single, starting a MOPS group empowers you to link arms with other moms and journey together through motherhood.
MOPS is an international organization. You do not need to be a member of Gulf Coast Church to join our MOPS chapter.
Our dues are $50 per semester/$100 per year. These dues pay for many things such as beverages, decorations, creative activities, speakers, special events, MOPS International fees, etc. Dues only pay a small portion of childcare costs; therefore, we ask that even moms who do not make use of our childcare to please pay the full dues as well. Please note that dues are nonrefundable.
Each meeting you will sign your child in at the kids check-in area. Each child will get a nametag with a barcode and each mom will get a sticker with the corresponding barcode. Present your pick-up sticker after the meeting to sign your child out for the morning. The church building is locked by 9:20 for safety.
All of our childcare staff have completed background checks and are a part of our church childcare staff. The safety and well being of children is of the utmost importance to Gulf Coast Church and Gulf Coast Church MOPS.
We encourage all moms to do what feels best for them and their baby. Moms are welcome to keep their babies with them during meetings. However, we recommend that mothers utilize childcare once children turn age 1 to get the most out of our meetings.
At Gulf Coast Church MOPS, we support not only mothers, but children. It is important that children are engaged in fun activities and encouraged as they learn and grow. Your child will participate in age appropriate crafts, games, story time, and receive a snack during each meeting time. We want children to love MOPS just as much as moms!
